I’m a vegetarian all year round anyway, but I wouldn’t mind giving veganism a go at some point – is there a National Vegan Week?

Just Googled it and couldn’t find anything. I don’t eat dairy 6 days a week and then have a ‘cheat day’ once a week. I rarely wear leather anymore but still have honey. I though there would be a national vegan week by now tbh :0)

I didn’t realize that they had this as a week. I had pasta salad yesterday that I made with my mom and it was completely vegetarian! It’s cool to be able to cut out meat for a week. Unfortunately I’m still going to drink milk because I know how healthy it is. So I can’t really ever be 100% vegan.

That sounds nice. I kinda miss cooking with my Mum.
These are alternative great sources of calcium: Tofu, broccoli, dark leafy greens and almonds.
These are great alternative sources of protein: Kidney beans, black beans, peanuts, almonds, pistachios, sunflower Seeds, Flaxseed.
Because I’m lactose intolerant I’ve done my research and found that I’m not missing out on any vitamins or nutrients if I include a mixture of some of these in my diet regularly. This was also agreed on by my Nutritionist just to get a professional point of view :0)

I was a little confused because all of my veggie/vegan friends were talking about National Vegetarian Week back in April, but I remembered you’re in the UK so of course your national week would be different. I do have a veggie meal planned for this week, zucchini lasagna!

I was getting confused with Mothers day for the same reason, I was thinking “I’m sure we did that not long ago!?” lol In the UK we call Zucchini’s ‘Courgettes’. That sounds really nice by the way :o)
