The alternative blog for cruelty free skincare, veggie food and alt/geek culture

I bought this shampoo because it’s cruelty free, organic, free from the usual nasties and has coconut oil which we all know by now is amazing for hair.

As you can see this shampoo does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (used to create the lather in soap) which is good because it really strips hair of its natural oils. A lot of shampoos leave my hair like tangled straw because of the high SLS content.

Unfortunately it didn’t spread well through my thick wavy hair at all. So it was either use a third of the bottle on one wash or dilute it in a cup of water. This worked really well and surprisingly I did actually get some kind if minimal lather. It took the excess oil off my roots and my ends felt smooth and moisturised. I’m not sure how it would cope with really greasy hair though.
