The alternative blog for cruelty free skincare, veggie food and alt/geek culture

I’ve recently discovered the natural beauty and health brand Weleda and find their principals and methods to be very admiral.

Weleda’s Ethics…

‘While we are making our products, we actively protect ecology and support Weleda Skin Foodenvironmental stewardship and conservation. Where we cannot obtain raw materials from our own Weleda gardens or certified wild collection, we obtain the ingredients we work with from selected suppliers, very often people we have been working with for many years. Our constant investment in research and development helps cultivate beauty around the world and we build positive relationships within our own team, with our customers and with fair trade partners.’

Nature, health, beauty and you…

‘All of our product ranges have a key ingredient we call the ‘leadplants’. Each of these leadplants has characteristics corresponding with different phases in the life story of our customers. Our leadplants are selected to have a particular effect on, and a relationship with, people as they pass through different stages in life. They are selected to maintain the balance of body and mind and for each individual’s well-being. From our body and face care for people at every age and life-stage, to our specialist pregnancy, baby or dental care, Weleda offers the right natural care product for every need.’

Skin Food Review…

Skin Food (£6.95 30ml) is the thickest cream I have ever used, it doesn’t sink in quickly because it isn’t meant to. It moisturises, repairs and protects dry damaged skin. The bloke had an old blister from a burn which had turned into a small seg (those hard bits of skin that come about through wear and tear or pressure) so he naturally became my test subject. He applied the cream in the morning and again at night and by the next day it felt as soft as the rest of his skin and had a smoother appearance. I’m going to use this to moisturise my hands and feet every night before bed as I think Skin Food will be their saviour – it really is a hero product!

I would love to hear from anyone who’s tried Weleda before to see which products you recommend.
