Halloween Makeup To Get Creative With

Rather than put together a specific look, I decided to find, what I thought were the most versatile items. This way after Halloween you can subtly incorporate them into an evening look, using as much or as little as you want. Creative and budget friendly!

Glow Up – Orly

Cosmic Cowboy Face Jewels – Barry M

Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick in Iconic – Ciate

18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette – E.L.F.

I’ve left off any prices and links as it depends on which country you live in or what your fave beauty halls or websites are. My fave UK places (apart from the brands own websites) are Superdrug, TK Maxx (online), Debenhams and Cult Beauty (online).

Nail Super Hero by Ciate

Nail Super Hero £9.60 is part of the Ciate treatment range (five in all) and has been formulated to strengthen weak and bendy nails, whilst hydrating them too.

The flip up cardboard packaging is quite novel, showing you just how much product you actually get for your money, although I’m not sure why the box is needed at all.

I’ve been using this for two months and I have seen a good improvement in the strength of my, usually very bendy, nails. They aren’t splinting or bending as much so any nail polish that I use is staying on longer. Considering I have the collagen disorder Hypermobilty Syndrome (which also seems to effect keratin) this is pretty amazing!

I like that Ciate have called this a ‘basecoat’ because when I applied four coats over the top of each other, over seven days, I ended up with a squishy, dull mess! I’ve since found out that there’s no need, as one coat lasts for up to two weeks.  It moves with the nail, rather than flaking of and dries down to a satin, rather than a shiny finish, so nail polish grips it easily.

Just what I’ve been waiting for all these years!

Ciate Minis – Gelology Collection – Paradise Lost

I have way too many nail polishes so I’m only buying ones from now on that are very versatile or have something special about them.

Paradise Lost is a beautiful rose gold colour with copper tones and incredibly fine sparkle, which has a matte texture.

Ciate Gelology range incorporates their most popular shades but this time in a highlight pigmented gel finish that bonds to the nail better and bends with the nail for longer wear. This glided on easily and two thin coats gave this amazing depth of colour. I do have very weak bendy nails and it hasn’t cracked or flaked at all!

I’m going to be wearing this through October and the party season. It will also look stunning with a tan in Summer.
