Hello lovely people! 🔮
These wickedly wonderful nail decals are from ClawedbyGrace. I thought I better share these quickly so that you can order them yourself before Halloween, although I’ll be using these all year round.
These are basically just transfers that you cut out, place on your nails, dab water onto the back of them and then slide the back off, just like the old fake tattoos. It’s always a good idea to glide a top coat over to make them last.
Right, I’m off to have a look at which colours of polish I have…
Hello lovely people! ✨💙✨
I would love to say that I have the skill, and let’s face it, patience to create something as rad a these two but they were bought from Evrika Apparel over on Etsy.
You can choose what pattern and colour combo you want but as they are hand tyedyed to order, they will come out slightly different, making each one totally unique!
The tees themselves are fairly soft and great quality, so I think I’ll still be wearing these when I’m a grungy granny, zooming around on my mobility scooter lol
Not sure why my iPad camera has made the one on the left appear more green, when it’s really blue 😆
I’d love to know if you have tried tyedye yourself and the results?
Hello lovely people! ✨💙✨
Every now and then I fancy a change from soft grunge/goth and crave some colour so I bought this gorgeous maxi from Shiva Moon on Etsy. They sell handmade, individual dresses and are lovely, helpful people.
As the weather gets cooler I’m going to style this with my trusty mini black cape/shrug and black cage-toe sandals with black socks or tights.
I’m 5’8 and the hem is just below ankle length so they are perfect for us tall girls that are used to dealing with odd/unflattering skirt lengths.
Jewellery is a mish-mash of festival and charity shop finds and presents.
Hello lovely people! ✨💙✨
I had to share this awesome tie-dye jumper I bought from NikRik’s Workshop on Etsy. It’s a fairly light jumper so it’s perfect for Spring, chilly Summer evenings (when you don’t have a bloke around who will lend you theirs) and Autumn or layering up in Winter.
I love Cyan and light green as I find them to be the most uplifting colours, especially together. You can imagine how chuffed I was that my hair turned out Cyan, rather than the darker blue I aimed for lol
What are your fave colour combos?
Hi lovely people!
Remember in my first post I told you I wasn’t happy with my first ‘fix’ and so Stitch Fix said they would try again for free? Well, prompted by the site asking ‘Is there anything your wardrobe is missing?’ this time I left a note saying that I’d been trying to find tapered cargo pants and joggers that were long enough but not baggy for ages! 34” to be exact.
A Note from Molly the Stylist
What Was in the Box
I absolutely love these shorts because they can be dressed up or down but more importantly, they are the first shorts I’ve worn in decade which don’t cut into my chunky thighs when I sit down! Hurrah!
The two long joggers/cargo pants are exactly what I’ve been searching for, comfortable and luxurious, the perfect street style!
I liked the idea of simple black lacy top but I already have quite a few similar items so I returned it, along with the cropped (mid-calf) cargo pants as the cuffs were too tight and there wasn’t a zip.
I’m so pleased with this fix as it did everything I needed.
If you have been looking all over for particular items (one’s that are either basic or in fashion and not too alternative – long sleeve mesh top – ahem), then it’s a lot easier to let a stylist pick out different ones for you to try on.
Easier than paying for delivery from different websites and if the items aren’t suitable, having to retrieve return labels online and if, like me, you don’t have a printer, having to print them out at the library/a friends/work. Plus, everything is packaged in paper and card so no endless chain of plastic bags either.
You could also be pleasantly surprised by an item you might not have considered, like I did with those awesome shorts!
What would you wear these items with?
This week I’m trying Stitch Fix for the first time.
You pay £10 for a personal stylist to analyse your answers to an online style survey, so they can send you items they think you’ll love. Questions include style preferences, lifestyle and body shape.
You can add notes for them i.e. ‘Flat/low heels only’ and even review and adjust their first attempt online before they post it.
I’m under no obligation to buy anything and can return everything.
The stylist has understood my laidback style fairly well and chose clothes which compliment my colouring and also got my size right, overall. 💁🏻♀️
I specified low-mid rise, bootcut jeans. I got mid-high rise, skinny jeans. Eh!? 🤷🏻♀️
The fit of the dress, jump suit and play suit are perfect in the shoulders and chest but because they are gathered at the waist, they make my belly look the size of half a watermelon! 🤦🏻♀️ At the start, I left a note saying ‘I often have a very bloated belly that I’d like to hide’ so again, a swing and a miss!
I’ve given my feedback on the site for each item (really detailed questions, which I appreciate). They have offered me another fix for free!
I’ve given them the clue that I like sports luxe and soft grunge. But I am going to have a sneak peak this time and maybe edit what the stylist chooses.
However, it was fun getting a surprise last time because I wouldn’t have usually considered a flowery dress or jump/play suits and now I definitely would! 💃🏽
Would you let a stylist choose your outfits for a change?
💡I need outfit ideas!💡
I spontaneously dropped quite a bit of dosh (a rare thing for me) on these Docs ages ago but I have no idea what to wear them with with!
Some suggestions have been a) 80’s Hair-metal b) 90’s Girly grunge/Riot Grrrl teaming them with a floaty short dress c) Sexy grunge teaming them with a leather/denim mini or skinny jeans, which I guess plays into suggestion a.
Any ideas or comments, lovely people?
I’m going to be 40 in 4 months so naturally I’m doing the adult thing and wearing this type of kawaii-goth style I used to wear all of the time in my early 20’s – early 30’s hehee!
Hot Pink Hoops – Claire’s
Hatsu Miku tee – EMP
Arm warmers – Forage Design
Leggings – EMP
Wedge trainers – Koi Footwear
I love burgundy as a neutral colour instead of black for a change.
I could have done full colour blocking with a burgundy tee but this flannel shirt is my comfort blanket (and burgundy too) so I kept it on☺️
❓Do you have a clothing item which you are emotionally attached to and wear all of the time, even though you have newer/better clothes to wear❓
