After my NYX liquid lipstick wearing off after eating a starter of Chaat which isn’t even greasy, I knew I had to try Kat Von D’s Ever Lasting Lipstick instead. I’d also run out of powder and was going to try her Lock It Loose Powder but decided with my Dyspraxia I’d probably get it everywhere and went for the Powder Foundation instead which I figured I would have dual usage.
Kat Von D Lock It Powder Foundation £27
Colour – This is one of the few times a brands foundation has matched my skin tone perfectly.
Coverage – Unfortunately it offers very minimum coverage. I built it by patting it onto my skin and then giving my face an incredibly fine misting of water, letting it dry and repeating twice more. I was very impressed that it never looked cakey but any imperfections were still visible underneath.
Price – £27 is a lot to pay for powder but it set my liquid foundation perfectly and left my skin looking smooth rather than flakey or dry.
Final thoughts – I’d recommend this if you have a very even skin tone and just want a soft flattering finish. As a powder this works wonders and held my foundation in place all night, even in a hot crowded bar until 1.00am!
Kat Von D Ever Lasting Lipstick £17
Colour – The first thing I have to say is that when you click on the sample colours on the Debenhams website the main picture of the product does not change colour so you only have a tiny square to go off. Double Dare (a terracotta toned pink) matched the sample square perfectly, the other Noble was way too pale and looked more like concealer! If you can, go down to the actual shop and sample the testers properly.
Texture – Goes on smoothly with the doe foot applicator, even coverage, dries down quickly but didn’t dry out my pout at all.
Staying power – Through two cocktails and two courses of food but was beaten by my desert.
Price – £17 is a reasonable price to pay for a product which lasts so long and doesn’t dry out lips.
Final Thoughts – This is the best liquid lipstick I’ve ever used.
